Thanks Blair,

I guess I should provide a bit of context for the photos. All of these shots were taken in and around an Internally dispaced persons (i.e. internal refugee camp) camp in northern Uganda. Uganda is in the midst of a twenty year civil war b/w gov't forces and the Lord's Resistance Army, a guerrilla force based in northern Uganda, southern Sudan, and the Congo. There are approx. 50 IDP camps in northern Uganda. The LRA has been abducting women and children to fight in its army. The camps are supposed to provide protection from abductions but the living conditions are appalling and people are forced to rely on the World Food Program for food. For more info on the conflict check out www.guluwalk.com.

Colin, good to see you posting. The work is great, I especially really like the photo of the person being opereated. They eyes....wow......did you find it difficult to shoot stills and video?

Wow. Great images Colin! The shot of the children and the huts rising into the background is surreal. Let us know when and where we might catch some of the video you shot!

Cheers

Hey Mark,

Some of the footage was shown on The Hour, a poppy CBC news show. The rest is being edited into a documentary. The film will be about Gulu Walk, a Canadian Organization/lobby group that is raising awareness about the situation in northern Uganda. I was brought on board to shoot the Uganda footage The film probably won't be out for a year or so but I'll keep you posted.

Hey Colin,

How did you get involved with that? just happen upon it? I was surprised to hear you were shooting video. I guess it gave you an opportunity to shoot stills though. I get back into TO June 1st, so sometime after that, we have to get together for a beer, I'll email you. Great stuff by the way.

Joe
