Word from the West....

Hey guys/girls,
After many promises I have finally gotten around to posting some resent stuff from my new job in Lloydminster. I guess we will have to start with the neatest thing that I have been able to do. I managed thru many phone calls to be allowed to go onto and photograph the workings of an oil service rig. It was great and the guys were awesome. A piece of advice is to always have a hard hat and a safety vest in your car. It scores points with the foreman of a jobsite and rescue crews that don't like photographers from Ontario*. Anyway here is a few pics that I shot from my few hours on a rig. Enjoy!
Kevin Hill

PS- I need to cut some silhouettes out of this group. I think that three is way too many. Any editing help would be greatly appreciated.

Totally caught me off guard...

Hey guys/girls,

I was checking out the online portfolio of Dave H., a brit who is looking to come over to Canada to work. I was browsing through a couple of nice sports pics (most soccer)...then I come to this!

http://www.dah.co.uk/recentwork/pages/Dave_Howarth_14.htm

Now, whether or not it's too racy is a discussion for another time. I just thought it was an interesting selection. I'm not sure I'd have the balls to put this in my portfolio.

Although if I was Barry Springle, I probably would. Ha ha.

Roy Halladay

I've spent a day, photographing Major League baseball games between Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals at Rogers Centre in Toronto, August 26, 2006.
Roy Halladay was a starting picture of Blue Jays. The ace right-hander allowed just two runs on four hits in a complete-game gem yet was saddled with his fourth defeat of the season Saturday evening. Halladay (16-4), the major-league leader in wins, made just two mistakes and paid for them both as the Blue Jays (68-61) lost for the fifth time in eight games before a crowd of 38,070.
Can he win the Cy Young Award again this year?

Recent stuff from Major League Baseaball

I've spent two days, photographing Major League Baseball games between Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics at Rogers Centre in Toronto, August 22-23, 2006. Shooting baseball games is very hard for me because I haven’t shot baseball much. However, it was fantastic and I got several good shots including the moment of Vernon Well’s home-run.
Here is some stuff from Rogers Centre.
Thanks for looking!

Recent Stuff

Hey everyone. Slow day at work gave me the chance to go through some stuff from the last few weeks up until just yesterday. A couple of weather features, a portrait and some sports. I had the chance to go to the final day of a cricket match where the Canadian national team took on (and defeated) a team from Kenya. The game took 4 days to play, which was almost as long as it took for me to understand cricket. Yesterday I managed to get my camera onto some rollercoasters at the CNE which was fun/dangerous/painful. I also posted some work from the Rogers Cup at www.sportsshooter.com/aaron
Thanks for looking!
